Shopping is an activity that is enjoyed by many people. There are also people (especially men), who hate shopping and say that it´s a waste of time.

But whether the people like shopping or not they have to go to a shop, more or less frequently, to buy what they need because shopping is a necessary. When people talk about modern life, they often use the words “CONSUMER SOCIETY”. A consumer is someone who uses a product. And a consumer society is a society in which goods are very important.

In the past people would shop more often for stample foods such as fruit, vegetables, meat and bread. They would buy these in local shops in the town or village where they lived. Today it´s another.

There are many kinds of shops, from small shops and boutiques, department stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets. People like buy in big shopping centres, because they have all under one roof. But favourite are boutiques, too. This type of shops sell the latest fashion.

It´s a shop specialized to young fashion and some posh boutiques sell wooden from world famous fashion designers. Many people like to go shopping to department stores.

The stores are large buildings usually several storeys high. They have departmens which are specialized on some goods, f.e. on clothes, books, drogerie and cosmetics, shoes, sporting goods, toys, china and glass. Nearly all department stores have cafés, snack bars and restaurants, where yaou can relax after hours of shopping.

The largest type of shop is called hypermarket, which is a supermarket usually situated outside a town. It´s popular because under one roof you can buy everything and there are large space for car parking. There we buy with big trolleys, which are very big and deep and that are never full, so we buy. Buy and buy...and than our bill is super high.

Goods can be bought not only in shops and stores but also in outdoor. When you buy “under the sky”, you are on markets. Almost all towns and cities have a market once or twice a week.

A market today will have a number of stales, mostly selling cheap or second-hand goods, but also flowers, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as meat and fish. The stales usually start selling early and may finish by mid-afternoom.

I like shopping when I have money and good mood. It´s super feeling, when I go to town and I must not only “window shopping”, but I can buy something on me.

But I really hate time before hristmas, because in this time are in shops a lot of people, I can do any step ane there are many thieves, too. But I love buying small presents to my family and friends.

When I see in their faces, tahta they are happy and I made them enjoy, It´s a wonderful emotion...

In a shops you can pay by money or by credit cards. But you can pay by credit cards only in department stores, boutiques or in a hypermarket. It´s more comfortable than have a lot of money in your wallet, I think it´s dangerous because of thieves. But in small shops and on thge markets you can pay only by money...

Services are an important part of a national economy and show a maturity of each country. Services include health service, educational system, trade, tourism, traffic, small services(manicurists, hairstylists...).
